Cycling around Helmond: nature and culture

Today you drive through a mosaic of nature reserves, agricultural lands and charming old towns. Some of those villages are now part of Helmond as a district. You ride your legs off in the rural area south of Helmond. Here you will find the characteristic Brabant land of fields, meadows and forests. At Mierlo you pass De Ellenaar, a flour mill from 1851. In't Broek there are still many typical old long-gable farms. You seem to be driving back in time here, beautiful! Get off at Restaurant De 3 Gebroeders in beautiful old Gerwen. Further on you drive a bit along the Wilhelmina Canal and through Aarle-Rixtel. You cycle through the Grotelse Bos, in Bakel you see the Sint-Willebrordus, a corn mill from 1586. You cycle back through the Bakelse Bos to the starting point.
