Cycling around Helmond: nature and culture

Today you'll ride through a mosaic of nature reserves, farmlands, and charming old towns. Some of these villages are now part of Helmond as a district. You'll stretch your legs in the rural area south of Helmond. Here you'll find the characteristic Brabant landscape of fields, meadows, and forests. Near Mierlo, you'll pass De Ellenaar, a grain mill dating from 1851. In 't Broek, you'll still find many typical old long-gabled farmhouses. It feels like you're riding back in time here—beautiful! Further on, you'll cycle along the Wilhelmina Canal for a while and through Aarle-Rixtel. You'll cycle through the Grotelse Bos, and in Bakel, you'll see the Sint-Willebrordus, a grain mill dating from 1586. You'll cycle back to the starting point through the Bakelse Bos. Along the way, take a break at Restaurant De Hommel!
