Description
In the popular cycling region of Belgian Limburg, the paths are flat and nature offers a lot of variety. Various protected animal species live in the beautiful forests with deciduous and coniferous trees and on vast heath plains and special plants bloom in full regalia.
You cycle relaxed under a canopy of trees, over the quiet heathland, along the romantically rippling Kempen canal while following the footsteps of the old Teuten. Just across the border is the town of Lommel, which has existed for more than 1000 years. The city is nicely hidden between various beautiful nature reserves. In the center of Lommel you will find a small Teuten statue.
When you are in Lommel, you notice the activity. The city is a commercial center and the large De Singel shopping center puts Lommel in third place as a shopping city in Belgian Limburg. Thanks to the more than thirty chapels scattered throughout the city, Lommel has retained an authentic appearance.
