The Krimpenerwaard is surprisingly versatile. You can enjoy the beautiful Dutch peat meadow landscape, meadow nature, atmospheric villages and historic towns. The KoeKaasroute is a journey of discovery along old farms and along historic roads from Rotterdam through the Krimpenerwaard to the cheese city of Gouda. On the bike you can enjoy grazing cows and meadow birds, which roam in elongated meadows with flowery
ditch sides.

Along the way you can also taste the hospitality of the entrepreneurs: buy cheese, jam, eggs and other regional products at the farmer or get to know the regional dishes in one of the cozy restaurants.

The Krimpenerwaard also excels in historical  heritage. The landscape is since

changed little in the Middle Ages. Many old farms, churches, mills, pumping stations and water towers can still be seen today. Also the villages
and cities are worth a visit to experience the culture and history of the Krimpenerwaard . Water is the last trump card here: you cycle a long way along the Hollandsche IJssel, right through the Green Heart.
