Tour of the Drentsche Aa and Zuidlaardermeer

From Camping De Vledders you make a round full of natural beauty and cultural history. You cycle along the heathland Vijftig Bunder and the adjacent Noordlaarderbos. On the other side of the path you look out over the stream valley of the Drentsche Aa. This is a beautiful meandering stream with many side branches. Not for nothing a National Park! Further on you come through Appelbergen, a beautiful nature reserve. In the middle of the forest you can make a pit stop at Pannenkoekhuis Paviljoen Appelbergen. Then you can enjoy a breath of fresh air in the Oost- and Onnerpolder, a wide stream valley landscape west of the Zuidlaardermeer. You cross the Hunze, a little later you cycle past polder mill De Boezemvriend from 1871. Finally you cycle through Zuidlaren that enjoys a protected village view because of the many well-preserved old buildings.
