From Spijkenisse to Rotterdam along the Oude Maas

You cycle through Spijkenisse, you see here among other things the grain mill Nooitgedacht. Further on you cross the Spui, a tidal river that was formed during a flood in the sixteenth century. You cycle through the picturesque Heinenoord, further on you cycle through the Second Heinenoord tunnel under the Oude Maas. You come through the Jan Gerritsepolder where you pass the Gaatkensbult: a lookout hill.

The cosmopolitan feeling reaches its peak when you cycle through the center that is dominated by the many beautiful skyscrapers and other architectural highlights. You will pass through the Kop van Zuid and along the old harbor. On the way back you will cycle through the Valckestein Forest. Thanks to the many poplars the forest seems older than it is.
