Tour of Wijde Aa, Heijmanswetering and the Oude Rijn

This ride takes you from't Oude Raadhuys in Woubrugge around the Lagenwaard polders. This vast polder landscape is crossed by ditches and dotted with windmills. During this route - which you can safely call a mill route - you cycle past a lot of mills, including the Vlietmolen, which was built in 1913. You can see this mill at the end of the route. You will also cycle along the south bank of the Wijde Aa. This elongated lake has a lot of continuous pleasure boating. There is a covered marina and you can swim there. You also cycle along the water of the Heijmanswetering, the Braassemermeer and the Zuideinderplas. You follow the bends of the old-fashioned meandering river De Meije to Alphen aan de Rijn. Nice to experience the atmosphere!
