E-bike route Franeker, Marsum and Winsum

With this tour you make a round east of Franeker. You cycle through the open Frisian landscape, through picturesque villages and past old farms that are scattered along the many waterways and ditches. The route starts in the picturesque Franeker, one of the eleven Frisian cities. It has a protected cityscape and has dozens of national monuments. In Marssum you pass another historical building: the stately Poptaslot, also called Azingastate or Heringastate. It was built in the 15th century as a summer residence for a wealthy lawyer from Leeuwarden. It is now open as a museum and decorated in 17th and 18th century style. Worth it! Via Leeuwaarden you eventually cycle back to the nice Franeker where you can completely relax from this tour at Hotel-Restaurant Poort van Franeker.
