A nature tour in the Brabant Kempen

Your route starts in Lage Mierde. Vessem is a quiet village with a large rectangular lawn serving as its central square and a number of beautiful buildings surrounding it. The oldest of these is the 15th-century church tower. Many pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela pass through Vessem. You'll also discover several of the so-called Eight Beatitudes: Eersel, Duizel, Steensel, Knegsel, Wintelre, Reusel, Hulsel, and Netersel. The Great and Small Circles on the Peelsche Heide near Reusel were constructed in the 1930s, following the street plan of the Champs-Élysées and Place de la Concorde. The circles served as orientation points for pilots during World War II. Take a break near here at the Old Fire Tower! At the Hoge Vijverbos, you'll cycle for a short distance along the Belgian border.
