Your route starts at the Véssumse Hoeve. Vessem is a quiet village with a large rectangular lawn as the central village square and a number of beautiful buildings surrounding it. The oldest of these is the church tower from the 15th century. Many pilgrims come to Vessem on their way to Santiago de Compostella. You can taste the peace and reflection in the air. Then you cycle north via the Landschotse Heide, to ride along the forest edge of the Baest Estate. You will also discover a number of the so-called Eight Beatitudes: Eersel, Duizel, Steensel, Knegsel, Wintelre, Reusel, Hulsel and Netersel. In the past they were called'the selligheden\\\', or'the beatitudes\\\'. Dutch soldiers who were stationed here during the Belgian Revolution scornfully called the villages 'the wretchedness'!
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
