Tour Nieuwkoopse Plassen and Alphen aan den Rijn

Your route starts at Grand Café Roos Eten & Drinken on the edge of Boskoop, in an authentic building from the 1930s. When the weather is nice you have a beautiful view of the rosarium from the terrace. Cycle through the winding ribbon development from Oud Bodegraven to Bodegraven and explore the rural area of Alphen aan den Rijn and the Nieuwkoopse Plassen. This low peat swamp is a gem in the middle of the Groene Hart. Of course, you cannot see how rich underwater life is from your bike, but you can enjoy the reedlands, meadows and marsh heaths, each with their own unique flora and fauna. You cycle through Alphen aan den Rijn and past the Blauwe Wip mill. Enjoy this thoroughly Dutch route!
