Description

First, this route takes you through Terneuzen. This town used to be called'Ter Nessen\\\':'nesse\\\' means headland. In the village of Spui you cycle along the Eben Haëzer. This round, stone flour mill was built in 1807 and painted white according to Zeeland tradition. Further on you pass through Mutton. Although the name suggests otherwise, this hamlet was not founded by people with a preference for mutton: 'bout' means end. In Axel you will see some beautiful monumental buildings. You will also pass the Stadsmolen, a flour mill from 1750 that was built on a bastion. The route leads you north through the polder landscape. You pass through Zaamslag, you also drive along the Western Scheldt. After disembarking it is time for a nice meal at Taste Churchill .
