From the city centre of 's-Hertogenbosch you cycle to De Wamberg, a wooded estate with a castle. You will find a number of playhouses there. They were built from the end of the Middle Ages purely for entertainment, without a residential purpose. Via Eetcafe De Prins in Berlicum you cycle to Maaskantje. Here you pass De Pelikaan, a round stone corn mill from 1864. Kasteel Groot Ruwenberg is located on a former meander of the river Dommel. It was founded in the fourteenth century. The part of the castle that still exists is the sixteenth-century octagonal tower with spire. You will soon be back in 's-Hertogenbosch, one of the oldest cities in the Netherlands. The episcopal see and former garrison town is best known for its beautiful St. John's Cathedral.
