From Maastricht you drive a bit through the Maas Valley and the hills. You pass through villages worth seeing such as Borgharen, Itteren and Meerssen.
Borgharen Castle
After cycling through the Maastricht districts of Nazareth and Limmel, you drive to Borgharen. From the road you have a nice view of the Maas and the surrounding hills. You pass some beautiful buildings. You will also pass the moated medieval Borgharen Castle, a beautiful sight! In the Maas Valley you cycle on a car-free road between grasslands and fields. Itteren is a beautiful church village. Here you will see, among other things, the St. Martin's Church from 1784.
Proosdijpark
At junction 14 you pass Landgoed Meerssenhoven. The eighteenth-century building complex with associated park has been preserved in good condition. In picturesque Meerssen you will pass the centuries-old Proosdijpark. It is decorated in English landscape style. Further on you will see the Groote Mill on the Geul, which dates from 1778.
