Leafy route along the Loosdrechtse Plassen

Barnsche Bos
You start with a cup of coffee at Grand Café Groeneveld, located on the beautiful estate of Kasteel Groeneveld. You cycle to Soest via the Baarnsche Bos, after which you dive into the woods of Boswachterij De Vuursche. In these vast forests, deciduous forests and coniferous forests alternate. You continue cycling along the Loosdrechtse Plassen. The black tern breeds on the remote banks and rare plants such as round sundew, thread sedge, orchids and large rattle grow on the marshy quaking moor.

Spanderwoud
The Spanderwoud was originally a production forest of deciduous and coniferous trees. A little further on you will discover the Bussumerheide, Westerheide and Zuiderheide, which are part of the Goois Nature Reserve. Numerous prehistoric remains are hidden here: camps, a ban separation, dead roads, an urnfield and burial mounds. You can also admire a restored garland burial mound from the Bronze Age, from the period 3000 - 800 BC. In the southern part of the heath, there are still moors that were used to wash the sheep herds!
