Description
Just below Breda are some beautiful nature reserves. This cycle route takes you through the ancient Mastbos, through the Markdal and over the Strijbeekse Heide.
St. Jacob's Chapel This forest dates back to the sixteenth century. You will see stately beech avenues, but also conifers. It is wonderfully quiet driving here. In Galder you can visit the St. Jacob's Chapel. It originally dates back to 1468. You will also see several authentic farms in and around this village.
Bouvigne Castle You cross the Mark, after which you drive onto the Strijbeekse Heide. Here you will find a beautiful mix of fragrant conifers, fens and heath. Then you cycle a few kilometres through the Markdal. Get some fresh air, while you look out over the rippling water and the untouched nature. What an idyllic landscape. Bouvigne Castle is a centuries-old hunting lodge that is surrounded by a moat.
