Berg en Dal: through the forest and along the Maas

After an overnight stay at Mini Camping De Hoge Hof, near Groesbeek, you get on your bike. Anyone who cycles around Berg en Dal cannot avoid major climbs. But then you zoom down smoothly! Via Berg en Dal you cycle through a small part of Nijmegen and the forests of Heilig Landstichting. Via Malden you arrive at the Overasseltse and Hatertse fens nature reserve: a number of fens in a largely planted forest with remnants of oak coppice, plots of heath and small fields and meadows. Corn mill Joannusmolen was built in 1894. The next part of this varied route takes you over the Maas and then further along its winding banks. In Cuijck you cross the Maas with a ferry. It is useful to keep some change on hand for the crossing.
