After you wake up in the morning by the birds at Farm Camping Doornenbal, you start your cycling tour. This tour takes you through a wetland area. You cycle along the Loosdrechtse, Vinkeveense and Ankeveense plassen. This is a well-known area for sailing enthusiasts and skaters. Along the way you will encounter picturesque old Dutch villages such as Loenen aan de Vecht, Leusden and Nigtevecht. Expect landscape scenes with lots of boats on the water. The lakes are connected to the Amstel river. They were created by the extraction of peat. The elongated islands that you can still see today are legakkers. These were drying fields where wet peat was placed to dry. After more than fifty kilometers through a landscape that is so typical of the Netherlands, you arrive back at Boerderij Camping Doornenbal.
