Discover the beautiful nature of Belgian Limburg, from a ride along the Meuse to the beautiful forests of the Hoge Kempen National Park.
High Kempen
With this route you will see the National Park De Hoge Kempen from all sides! From Genk you cycle through the northern part via Zwartberg to Maasmechelen, then you cycle through the southern part back to Genk. The first national park of Flanders is known for its vast pine forests, heathlands full of purple flowers, large ponds that were created by gravel and sand extraction and high hilltops that offer you a beautiful view. A beautiful varied area!
Cat Ponds
After a trip to the Maas near Maasmechelen, you cycle back into the park. The last part of the route takes you through the coniferous forests of the Kattenvennen, one of the six gateways to the Hoge Kempen National Park. In the middle of this domain, a giant star globe stands out: the Cosmodrome. Stay at M Hotel, the starting point of your route, for another night when you return. There is still so much to discover here!
