Description
After a cup of coffee at the MON Chouette teahouse, you get on your bike. This cycle route runs through the heart of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug over the Leusderheide, close to beautiful places Soest, Amersfoort and Maarn. Enjoy the heathlands, open sandy plains and coniferous forests, interspersed with historic towns. During this bike tour you will discover the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. The area was created when ice and water pushed up masses of earth and stones 150,000 years ago, forming a ridge in the middle of the Netherlands. The history here is palpable everywhere. Because of the many estates, such as Landgoed Den Treek and Landgoed De Paltz, and castles such as Lockhorst, but also because of the great military significance that the area has had. You end the route in historic Amersfoort.
