From Wijk bij Duurstede onto the Utrechtse Heuvelrug

During the first kilometers you will loosen up your legs in the Cothen area. There are many fruit orchards: in the spring you can enjoy the beautiful blossoms here. You pass the Historical Bartiméus vegetable garden. Here you will find a rosarium and greenhouses: worth a visit. Then you drive onto the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. In this large nature reserve you cycle many kilometers through a varied landscape of deciduous and coniferous forests and heathlands. An ideal environment for a relaxing bike ride. You regularly see stately villas and country houses. You pass through Austerlitz, a village that emerged in 1804 from a settlement of traders near a large French army camp. Finally, you drive back into the vast polders of the Kromme Rijn region. The route starts and ends at Camping't Boomgaardje.
