The coulisselandscape around Doetinchem

Around Doetinchem, you can enjoy beautiful bike rides through the Gelderse Achterhoek region. You'll find plenty of natural beauty here, perfect for a day of relaxation. First, you'll pass the Wittebrinksmolen windmill, then cycle via Zelhem to the De Driesprong estate and the small-scale Besselderbos nature reserve a little further on. Just after junction 14, you'll enter the Slangenburg estate. The lane system of this estate is unique in the Netherlands for its scale and authenticity. The accompanying castle dates back to the fourteenth century. In Doetinchem, you'll cross the Oude IJssel river and then cycle to Wehl. In Laag Keppel's Dorpsstraat, you'll see several beautiful, historic nineteenth-century buildings. Further on, you'll cycle through the charming protected village of Hummelo. The route concludes with a delicious lunch at Eetcafe De Tol.
