Your route starts at Hotel Landgoed Zonheuvel. Walenburg is a small castle from the thirteenth century. It is located on a small square island with a second island behind it, on which the castle garden is located. Nearby is the castle and estate Sandenburg, which was first mentioned in 1391. In 1865, the castle was bought by a count who had the current castle built with the help of an architect. Further on, you cycle past Rhijnauwen Castle. A castle was built on this site in the 13th century. This castle burned down to a large extent and a new castle was built on the remains of the building. The current castle dates from the 18th century. Around the castle you will find a beautiful green estate.
