Historic estates around Hilvarenbeek

In the border region south of Tilburg it is wonderful to cycle through contiguous nature reserves. First you drive to the Neterselse Heide. At the De Flaes fen there is a beautiful lookout tower for a breathtaking view of the fen area. Further on you drive through De Utrecht Estate, a former heathland area. Here you mainly cycle between Scots pines and Douglas firs. Just after you cross the border, you drive through the rural area around Poppel. A more open landscape, but certainly also charming and quiet. At Landgoed Gorp & Roovert you will feel like you are in no man's land. How wonderfully quiet it is here! In Gorp you will find several monumental buildings. You start and end the route at Auberge De Hilver, a cozy place for a meal and a comfortable overnight stay.
