Description
A trip through the border region of Belgium and the Netherlands means enjoying vast forests and a refreshing rest. In between you will pass through some cozy places, such as the famous Baarle-Nassau.
High Ponds
First you drive through the woods to the border. In Belgium you drive straight into the Hoge Vijvers. In this nature reserve you drive on wide avenues along meadows, fields and between the many coniferous trees. Despite the name, you will not find ponds here. A refreshing silence, just like in the adjacent Ravelse Bos.
Baarle-Nassau
In Ravels en Weelde you will experience the typical friendly Flemish atmosphere. You will see some old farms and characteristic chapels and road crosses. In Baarle-Nassau & Baarle-Hertog you can count how many times you cross the border. The boundaries of the enclaves are visible in the streetscape and sometimes even run straight through buildings. You cycle through Belgium again, after which you drive through the vast forests of Landgoed de Utrecht.
