Description

First grab a terrace on the water at De Sonse Jachthaven Lunch-Dinner-Terras and then get on your bike. On the Dommel you will find De Hooydonksemolen, a double undershot mill with two water wheels. It is not certain when the mill was built. The Hooydonkse mill was used as a flour mill, but was also used for a while as an oil and sawmill. In the seventeenth century the miller apparently had quite a bit of competition from the Opwettensemolen. To attract customers to his mill, he provided free pints of beer! You move to Lieshout, where the De Leest mill is located. This is a round stone belt mill that was used as a flour mill and was built with all kinds of demolition parts. The Vresselse Bos is central to the northern part of the cycle route.
