Tour of Veerse Meer along Veere

This route leads you around the twenty-two kilometer long Veerse Meer, with its picturesque villages, old mills and of course a beautiful view over the water. The total water surface is 2030 hectares and there are thirteen islands in the lake. Sailors, anglers, recreational divers, surfers, water skiers and canoeists come to their heart's content on and in the lake. There is always a lot to see! Just before Veere you can stop for a cup of coffee at Theetuin and Farm Camping Plantlust. Afterwards you make a tour of Veere, one of the most picturesque fortified towns in the Netherlands. At the end of the 17th century there were more than twice as many houses as there are today. Veere was then an important port city, as you can see in Museum De Scottish Houses.
