Regional products route Neeltje Jans and Domburg

Your route starts at Proef Zeeland - Neeltje Jans Mosselen. You are here on Neeltje Jans, an island located halfway along the Oosterscheldekering. It was once a sandbank in the mouth of the Oosterschelde, but when the storm surge barrier was built the plate was raised. It was turned into a work island and since then you can view the impressive Delta Works there. Bring your binoculars to spot seals; if you scan the coastline you might see them taking a dip. In Domburg and in Oost- and Westkapelle you can taste the small-scale tourist character of Zeeland. There must have been a chapel in Oostkapelle in the past, which is the sister of another chapel in Westkapelle. The massive medieval Westhove castle is located in the middle of nature between Oostkapelle and Domburg.
