Round Plasmolen, Nieuw Bergen and Gennep

Plasmolen is also known as the only artists' colony in Limburg. From 1900 hundreds of artists settled here. The untouched nature that you encounter here served as a source of inspiration for most of them. The city of Gennep is located at the confluence of the rivers Maas and Niers. It is thought that the city acquired its city rights well before 1371. This can still be seen in the historic architectural style that you see in the city. The Rust na Arbeid windmill is located in Ven-Zelderheide. This stone flour mill was built in 1880. You then cycle a bit further via Landgoed Bleijenbeek and cycle along the Maas back into Afferden.
