The village of Varsseveld has only six thousand inhabitants. This place was probably inhabited very early. In the area, finds have been made of reindeer hunters and settlements that traded with the Romans in Roman times. The Varsseveldse kopjes form a small-scale cover sand relief; small hills protrude up to five meters above the surrounding area. In the lower area you see meadows. Nice and varied, with the fields on the kopjes and deciduous and coniferous forests that interrupt the landscape. One of the remnants from the rich history of the village is the windmill De Engel, built in 1850. On the way you will also pass the Molen van Van Hal (body/remains). The corn mill was built in 1866 on a rise, which makes it a belt mill. Get off at Restaurant van Hal!
