Description
Cycling through the heart of Maastricht is a great experience. This route takes you along the banks of the Maas and over the Maasboulevard. Taste the atmosphere and experience why the Limburg capital is known as one of the nicest cities in the Netherlands.
Geulle Castle
People come and go on the Maasboulevard and there are various companies and shops. This forms a nice contrast with the tranquility that the wide Maas radiates. A little further on the boulevard is a lot greener. In this area you will also find many vineyards where different types of grapes are grown. At the end of the route you will pass Geulle Castle. The current castle is an outer castle of the former seventeenth-century castle that was demolished in 1847. There is a wide moat surrounding the imposing castle.
