Tour of Rauwerd, Poppingawier and Bozum

This route takes you through the countryside north of Sneek. Here you cycle through a landscape of grasslands and canals. Ideal if you want to switch back for a while to leave the daily hustle and bustle behind. In addition to natural beauty, this route also offers you plenty of cultural history. In Friens, for example, you cycle past the village church from 1795. Just before junction 29 you cycle past a monumental farmhouse from 1840, on the left you look out over the river Kromme Grou. Rauwerd is a beautiful terp village, you will pass the Laurentius Church here. You can also experience the atmosphere of times gone by in Poppingawier. After a pit stop at Café Dorpshuis Boazumer Mjitte you cycle along the bank of the Zwette, a canal between Sneek and Leeuwarden that is part of the Elfstedentocht.
