E-bike route Franeker

The route meanders through the vast Frisian landscape. Along the way you will pass through some beautiful old terp villages, such as Beers, Blessum and Menaldum. You will see beautiful Frisian churches here. You will also pass the Arkens, a polder mill from 1835. In Franeker you take a break at Hotel-Restaurant Poort van Franeker, a cozy café where you can have lunch at your leisure. Leave your bike for a while and walk into Franeker. There are many historic buildings to admire in this Eleven Cities town with its unique atmosphere. A little later you drive into the countryside again. You can get a breath of fresh air along the Bolswardertrekvaart from 1638. In the protected villagescape of Mantgum you can still see a few monumental retirement homes.
