Cycling around the Hanseatic city of Zutphen

Tower city Zutphen
The starting point of this route is a bit outside Almen. At the start of the route you cycle along the Wijngaard de Nieuwe Baankreis. Here the grapes are grown organically. The vineyard is also used as a free-range area for the chickens of the associated laying hen farm. This way the space of this vineyard is optimally used. From Almen you cycle further to Eefde and then you cycle into the Torenstad Zutphen. In the outskirts of Zutphen you will find two beautiful ancient country houses: Huis de Voorst and Huis Het Velde. Huis de Voorst was built in the seventeenth century and the current Huis Het Velde dates from the sixteenth century.

Hotel Landgoed Ehzerwold
From Zutphen you cycle back to Almen. At the end of the route you can settle down at Hotel Landgoed Ehzerwold. Enjoy culinary delights in the restaurant and then have a good night's sleep in one of the comfortable hotel rooms. From here you can also follow route 137089.

House Het Velde
The first mention of the white country house Het Velde dates from 1326. Little remains of that country house. The basis of the current country house was created in the sixteenth century during a renovation. At that time, the eastern wing and the octagonal turret at the front of the mansion were added. Today the house is used by the Police Academy and therefore you can only view it from the outside.
