Tour of Groenlo and Lievelde

Want to cycle around the Achterhoek? This route takes you through Groenlo and the surrounding nature. From the saddle you can optimally enjoy the small-scale scenic landscape. There is also cultural history to experience, such as at Museum Erve Kots. During the siege of Groenlo, Prince Frederik Hendrik of Orange established the headquarters of his State army here. The open-air museum gives you a glimpse into local farm life from a bygone era. You cycle along the Slinge to the former Groenlo fortress. Although most of the fortifications have been demolished, you can still see the Mussenberg stronghold. You will also pass the Old Calixtus Church, which was built between 1275 and 1520. Just before Lievelde you drive along L75 from the Liberation Route. The route ends at Skik & Zo Eten & Drinken.
