Description

In West Zeeuws-Vlaanderen, a vast landscape full of creeks awaits you. You will also pass through IJzendijke, Oostburg and Schoondijke.

White Damsel
Cycling in Zeeuws-Vlaanderen means: riding through the wide polders and enjoying the peace and space. Every now and then you come across an old creek that was created by a flood. IJzendijke is the first town on your route. This former fortified town has a charming old Market. You can visit Museum Het Bolwerk here to learn more about the State-Spanish lines. Further on is the Witte Juffer, a flour mill from 1841.

Big Hole
Just outside Oostburg you drive past the Groote Gat: a creek that was once part of a larger creek system that was connected to Het Zwin. In 1604, Het Groote Gat was included in the military line of Oostburg. In addition to a creek, the current nature reserve also consists of moist and salty grass avenues, reed collars and shrubs. Hulsters Mill dates from 1884. Further on you drive through Breskens, where you will pass, among other things, Mobile bicycle service.
