Venlo, Baarlo and Kessel: this route takes you through some beautiful places on the Limburg Maas. You can also enjoy the special nature in the border area with Germany.
At Tuincentrum Leurs you can have something to drink and eat before you get on your bike. The seventeenth-century mansion castle Arenborg is the first sight on your route. Then you cycle along the Groote Heide, you have beautiful views here. Then you dive into the forests along the border. How wonderfully quiet it is here. At junction 99 you pass through Ronkenstein, where you will see some well-preserved eighteenth-century monuments.
On the other side of the Maas you drive through picturesque Kessel. The Church of Our Lady of Birth from 1460 and the ninth-century Keverberg Castle are located here. You drive along the Maas to the next beautiful village: Baarlo. Here you can see Castle De Borcht. This castle originally dates from 1200, the current moated building was built in the seventeenth century.
