The tranquility of West Zeeuws-Vlaanderen

In Zeeuws-Vlaanderen you can enjoy a nice and quiet cycling trip. This route takes you through the vast polder with its vast grasslands and creeks. On the way you will pass through Breskens and IJzendijke.

Braakman polder
First you drive through the Braakmanpolder. What was once an estuary has since 1952 become a nature reserve with a large dammed creek, flowery meadows and deciduous forests. A great start to your route! You then cycle along the dike with the Westerschelde. At junction 28 you can climb the dike for a nice view over the water. In Breskens you will visit Mobile bicycle service, a mobile workshop for bicycle repairs on location.

Picturesque IJzendijke
You drive through the wide polders on low-traffic roads. Sometimes you are sheltered by a row of trees, sometimes you get a nudge from the wind. You can relax here, ideal for charging the battery. After a while you enter IJzendijke. A beautiful place, on the Markt you can admire some monumental buildings. On the Kerkstraat you can admire the Mauritskerk from 1612.
