Description
A typical Brabant atmosphere, that is what you can expect in the Mill area. To the west and south of the municipality you will find cover sands, alternating with forests: a characteristic vegetation for the Brabant landscape. To the north you will find more fields and meadows. The route takes you into a rustic atmosphere. Cows and sheep live happily in the meadow here and farmers work hard to grow their crops, but are always available for a chat. The horizon forms in the distance as a thin line; you can see far away in this beautiful rural area.
A stark contrast in the landscape is formed by the casemates; the legacy of the Second World War. The Battle of Mill was an important moment in the history of the village. On May 10 and 11, 1940, there was heavy fighting here and the Germans took over the area. The Dutch suffered thirty casualties, while the Germans suffered a hundred casualties and three hundred wounded.
