Your route starts at Uitspanning't Peeske. Characteristic of this cycle tour is the crossing of the border with Germany. You explore the easternmost part of Gelderland. 's-Heerenberg is fun to explore by bike. The town has 30 national monuments and 49 municipal monuments. Huis Bergh, one of the largest castles in the Netherlands, is one of them. The medieval fortress, which was built in the 13th century, is surrounded by a moat and is semi-enclosed by a rampart. Nearby is the Boetselaersborg, this castle was built in 1550 by the Daem brothers and Hector van den Bergh. At Tolkamer you cycle along the Rhine: at 1,233 kilometers it is one of the longest rivers that makes its way through Europe to the sea.
