After an overnight stay at Hoeve Witteborg, you will set off well-rested. Time to explore the area around Blauwestad, Beerta and Nieuw Beerta! You will immediately enjoy beautiful views over the Olambtermeer. You will cycle past the De Hoop mill in the hamlet of Ganzedijk, part of Finsterwolde. The tower mill was built in 1868. You will also cycle through the picturesque village of Finsterwolde, which is also called Finnewol or Finnerwold in the Groningen dialect. It originated in the Middle Ages and grew considerably when the Dollard was poldered in the mid-sixteenth century. On the Hoofdweg of Beerta itself, you will then cycle past various monuments, such as stately buildings and Groningen manor farms. During your trip, you can rest at De Dansende Kater, where you can drink a cup of coffee with something tasty.
