Tour of Blauwestad, Beerta and Nieuw Beerta

After an overnight stay at B&B miniCamping Blauwestadhoeve, you can hit the road well-rested. Time to discover the surroundings of Blauwestad, Beerta and Nieuw Beerta! You cycle past the De Hoop mill in the hamlet of Ganzedijk, part of Finsterwolde. The mill was built in 1868. You also cycle through the picturesque village of Finsterwolde, which is also called Finnewol or Finnerwold in Groningen. It originated in the Middle Ages and grew considerably when the Dollard was reclaimed in the mid-sixteenth century. On the Hoofdweg of Beerta itself you will then drive past various monuments, such as stately buildings and Groningen mansions. During your tour you can rest at De Dansende Kater, where you can drink a cup of coffee and something tasty.
