Do you like cycling in nature? Then this route around Sint Joost, Montfort and Maria Hoop is really something for you. The area around Sint Joost consists of the banks of the Maas and extensive green forests. Breathe deeply along the way and relax completely in the middle of the forest.
Relaxing in the woods
The starting point of this route is in Sint Joost. From here you cycle to Montfort and then to Maria Hoop. Along the way you cycle through the Nieuw Annendaalsbos, a fairytale forest with coniferous and deciduous trees. If you pay close attention, you might even spot a woodlark or a yellowhammer in the trees here. This forest is also the habitat of deer and wild boars. So keep your eyes open to catch a glimpse of one of these animals. Near the Annendaalsbos you will find the Munningsbos. That forest consists mainly of conifers and oak trees. There are a lot of woodpeckers here.
Walking and cycling terrace't Heukske

Beetles and woodpeckers
There is no shortage of special animals in this region. The Munningsbos is one of the few forests where the stag beetle can be found, a rare beetle. You will also find no fewer than five different species of woodpeckers here. You will certainly not miss the presence of these birds. Their tapping of their beak on trees can be recognized from afar.
