Tour of Reeuwijkse Plassen

This route takes you from Deli Lounge n Reeuwijk around the Reeuwijkse Plassen. Here you cycle on narrow roads and experience the old polder land with its wooden quays and reed collars. Enjoy while looking out over the Reeuwijkse Plassen! In the rectangular shape of the lakes you can still see how the former peatlands were parceled out at the time. The peat was used, among others, by potteries and beer brewers in Gouda. Birds like to perch on the water, so bring your binoculars! North of the lakes you drive through the Reeuwijkse Hout: a nature reserve that consists of a mix of forest and meadows. In the village of Reeuwijk you will see some beautiful characteristic farms. In Goude you will pass the Asterhoeve Carriage Museum, a nice stop off.
