Tour of Helmond, Mierlo and Nuenen

This route takes you through the varied surroundings of Nuenen. In the village itself you first pass the Van Gogh church from 1824. Then you drive through the Papenvoortse Heide, a coniferous forest area that forms the southern part of Boswachterij Stiphorst. You cycle along the edge of Helmond and Mierlo to the next forest area: the Luchense Heide. In Geldrop you pass Geldrop Castle. There is a nineteenth-century landscape park surrounding the imposing castle. From this point you drive many kilometers through the Kleine Dommel valley. The river meanders here in a picturesque way through an old cultural landscape of fields, meadows and centuries-old water mills. Finally, you pass through the Nuenens Broek, a nature reserve where poplars were planted in the 1930s. The route ends at Comigo Lunchroom & Restaurant.
