Tour of Lichtenvoorde, Groenlo and Winterswijk

Your route starts at Hotel Restaurant de Koppelpaarden in Lichtenvoorde. The Tussenderveen, the Meddose Veen, the Korenburgerveen and the Rommel Mountains are protected peat areas that are part of the Winterwijk National Landscape. You cycle past groves, avenues, hedgerows and patches of raised bog. The large open quarry at Ratum is particularly special, because geological deposits from the Tertiary have been found here. About halfway you will pass Camping't Hilgelomeer, a holiday address from which you can easily explore this region. Mill de Vier Winden is an octagonal tower mill that was built in 1958 as a flour mill. The mill can be visited every day for those who want to know more about the miller's trade. On the way back, just before the end point, you can enjoy a nice terrace at Cafe de Boer!
