Description

Eernewoude, or the Frisian Earnewald, is full of tourism in the summer. The village is located on the edge of the nature and water sports area De Alde Feanen National Park. A flourishing nature with hundreds of different animal species and thousands of plants attracts new species, one even rarer than the other. The view is panoramic: water and peat swamp, reedlands waving in the wind, as far as you can see. Enjoy the typical Dutch polder landscape, where excellent water management predominates. There are three types of polders: reclaimed land, embankment and reclamation. The polders you cycle through today have mainly been reclaimed or drained. Your cycling tour starts and ends at Princenhof, Hotel & Restaurant. From the terrace you have a beautiful view over the water.
