The start and end point of this route is at the De Reestlandhoeve winery. From here you cycle through the beautiful forests around Staphorst. In the past, you would find a heathland here, but between 1930 and 1940, forests were planted here as a job creation project for the unemployed during the economic crisis. This created a wonderfully quiet forest that is home to deer, badgers, birds of prey and foxes. Furthermore, on this route you cycle past a bell tower from 1823. This bell is still used today to announce church services. Other sights along the way are De Havixhorst castle and the De Schiphorst hamlet. Be sure to stop at the stork village of De Lokkerij! The storks had such a good life in this village that they have spread independently across the region around the stork station.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
