Boxtel is a beautiful village, ideal to explore by bike. In the countryside you drive through the characteristic Brabant countryside. That means a lot of nature: this route takes you through De Brand and De Kampina.
Stacking Castle
From Brasserie CIS you drive first to the center of Boxtel. You will see beautiful old buildings here, you will also pass Castle Stapelen. Originally the castle dates from the thirteenth century, but in the nineteenth century it was greatly renovated. In the village of Esch you will see some characteristic long gable farms, just below Vught you drive through Landgoed Jagershagen. You take a trip to Zwijnsbergen Castle, a privately owned country house.
The fire
After you have cycled along the edge of the Loonse & Drunense Duinen National Park, you will cycle from junction 35 through De Brand, a small-scale landscape with ancient forests and small flower-filled meadows. In Haaren you will also see the Oude Toren dating from 1427, in addition to many old farms. A little further on you will pass Nemerlaer Castle, which was built in the thirteenth century. Via the heath and woods of De Kampina you drive back to Brasserie CIS.
