Your route starts at Henk Baars Bike-Sports Bicycle Rental, Sales & Maintenance in Hilvarenbeek. Cycle around the De Utrecht estate, which is connected to the Wellenseindse Heide. The forest area is approximately 2500 hectares and consists of Scots pines, Douglas firs and the European larch. These trees were felled to provide props for South Limburg coal mines. The Reusel valley, the meandering stream and areas around the fens where marsh gentian, marsh clubmoss, white beak sedge and bog asphodel bloom are very beautiful. There are also cultural monuments to be found: an old fire tower with a forester's house from 1905 is one of the hidden gems in the forests. Take a break at Hotel-Restaurant Herberg St. Petrus before cycling back to your starting point! The inn is named after the beautiful old church that stands next to it.
