Tour of Zuiderheide near Laren

Your walking route starts with a cup of coffee at the atmospheric Tea House't Bluk, a popular stopping place for walkers and cyclists near Laren. You then walk through the beautiful nature near Laren, on and around the Zuiderheide. This heathland stretches between Laren and Hilversum and you will find burial mounds and heaths here. These 4000-year-old burial mounds are known as'De Zeven Bergjes\\\' and are spread over the Zuiderheide and Westerheide. You will also find heathland fens in the beautiful open purple heath landscape. In the past, the fens were used to wash the cattle. You also pass through a heathland where the forests took hold when the sheep disappeared from the area in 1962. Nowadays cattle graze naturally again.
