Description
From the Twente peat area you make a beautiful trip Ootmarsum. First you drive to Geesteren and Vasse. You see the landscape slowly change: from vast meadows to a gently rolling coulisse landscape with stream valleys and woods. The next town on your route is Ootmarsum. One of the first Twente churches was built here around 770. The town had a flourishing trade during the Middle Ages, but saw industrialization pass it by. And that is what you see: Ootmarsum has managed to retain its historical character. Get off and enjoy the historical atmosphere. Further on you drive through the Springendal, a picturesque nature reserve that is also called the'Garden of the Netherlands\\\'.
